The Body Edge, a Division of People Making Progress, is a health, nutrition, weight control, and exercise program. The Body Edge has partnered with Prototypes, The Los Angeles County Public Health Nurses of SPA, and the American Heart Association. Participants meet twelve times for Health Education, Wellness Information, and Group inspiration & encouragement. The Body Edge Program has on site medical associates, fitness trainer, and program director. The program consist of twelve health and fitness workshops conducted by the American Heart Association and the Los Angeles County Public Health Nurses of SPA 5/6. Each workshop is designed to educate participants to the growing number of cardiovascular disease from being overweight or obese. Body Edge groups meet once each week. Each meeting is approximately two hours, and run for three consecutive months (twelve weeks). This program is informative, educational and interactive in it’s application toward behavioral modification of eating and exercise patterns and habits.
